A trackpad that won't click or jumps around has a few causes. The most common on MacBooks is actually a swollen battery underneath pushing up on it — if clicks feel stiff or dead, check for battery swelling first, as that's a safety issue. Otherwise it's a loose trackpad cable, liquid damage, or the Taptic Engine that simulates the click. Erratic cursor movement can also be a software or Bluetooth conflict.
